The 2018 Subaru Outback Offers Go-Anywhere Capability and Style

When you hear Subaru, the Outback is likely the vehicle that first comes to mind. The iconic SUV has long delivered the dependable capability that owners count on, and this year's model has received both exterior and interior updates that maintain the SUV's essential nature while also offering a new level of refinement.

The exterior features a reworked, chunkier bumper and front fascia that enhance the wide, lower grille. On that grille, chrome wings extend from the Subaru logo, drawing your eyes to the C-shaped LED motif headlights that are a continuing Subaru design theme. Overall wind noise is reduced, while the back seats experience less noise than with previous models thanks to improvements made to the rear wheel wells. With roof rails that feature retractable crossbars, the Outback makes it easy to carry bulky equipment like kayaks and canoes.

The cabin features a redesigned center console and steering wheel, making it easier to read the clock and providing easy access to the multimedia console. Something new that we like? After you turn the Outback off, the interior power stays on for a while to allow you time to gather everything before getting out. The Outback provides you with 35.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats when they're up, and a capacious 73.3 cubic feet when they're folded down.

Stay connected thanks to the standard STARLINK® infotainment system, which includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, Bluetooth® streaming and inputs for both USB and auxiliary.
